Ghost
by John Ringo

This "Ghost" May Not Walk Through Walls,
but Walls had Better Not Get in His Way!
A New Techno-thriller Adventure Series by a
New York Times Best-Selling Author.

Former SEAL Michael Harmon, Team Name "Ghost", retired for service injuries, is not enjoying college life. But things are about to change, if not for the better.

When he sees a kidnapping a series of, at the time logical, decisions leave him shot to ribbons and battling a battalion of Syrian commandos with only the help of three naked co-eds who answer to the names "Bambi," "Thumper" and "Cotton Tail."

A fast-paced, highly-sexual, military-action thriller that ranges from a poison factory in the Mideast to the Florida Keys to Siberia, the novel will keep you guessing what twisted fate will bring next for the man once known as . . . Ghost. Keep an eye on him or . . . poof, he'll be gone.

"John Ringo's done it again! Ghost is a complete adrenaline rush, filled with nonstop, kick ass action and hair-raising suspense."
Richard Marcinko, New York Times best-selling author of Rogue Warrior: Vengeance.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

John Ringo had visited 23 countries and attended 14 schools by the time he graduated high school. This left him with a wonderful appreciation of the oneness of humanity and a permanent aversion to foreign food. He chose to study marine biology and really liked it. Unfortunately the pay was for beans. So he turned to quality control database management, where the pay was much better. His highest hopes were to someday upgrade to SQL Server, at which point, he thought, his life would be complete. But then Fate took a hand: John has become a professional science fiction writer, and is in the early stages of becoming fabulously wealthy, which his publisher has assured him is the common lot of science fiction writers who write for Baen Books. In addition to his own enthusiastically received and New York Times best-selling military SF series—A Hymn Before Battle, Gust Front, When the Devil Dances, and Hell's Faire—he is collaborating with fellow New York Times best-selling author David Weber on a new SF adventure series: March Upcountry, March to the Sea, March to the Stars, and We Few, with more to come.

With his bachelor years spent in the airborne, cave diving, rock-climbing, rappelling, hunting, spear-fishing, and sailing, the author is now happy to let other people risk their necks. He prefers to write science fiction (both alone and in collaboration with David Weber) raise Arabian horses, dandle his kids and watch the grass grow. Someday he may even cut it. But not today. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe he'll just let the horses eat it.

I read this book a few years ago and just dragged it out to read again. I loved it, great action, his humor worded for me with his tongue in cheek stuff. First book I have every read with 2 additional stories added to the end and then work well with the main story. The next couple of books are brilliant and build well with great fun and action

Fasinating, I laughed, I cheered, I wept, I think this was one of the best series I have read. I will proboly reread it as I always catch some detail my imagination overlooked, I hope there are more Kildar books on the way, cant end in the blue. PLEASE!! Great stuff highly recomended. There are some very graphic scenes, but its all part of who the Kildar is, and as he keeps telling people " I am not a nice man" ;) enjoy.

Not his best work! This book and the whole Kildar series reads basically like some juveniles masturbation fantasy. Add infantile and simplistic politics and the books only saving grace are the well written action sequences. Definitely not for everyone and i strongly suggest reading John Ringos 'Posleen' and 'Council Wars' books instead.

Pure action-fantasy. Should be judged for the pace, not the morality.

I enjoy the mans writing, but this book is a video nasty. The rape scene left me cold and sorry I opened this book.

Curious book! Character has some serious issues, but struggles to keep them under control. Military scenes are fun to read even if a bit far fetched. I'm a military vet, have a body broken down by too many miles humping a ruck, and have my own demons; so on many levels I can identify with Ghost. Sex scenes are a bit more graphic than John Norman but those were classified as SF too. Later books in the series tone down the graphic S & M, so if that is an issue with you skip this book and start the series with Kildar.

I enjoy porn as much as the average guy, but I really don't want to see it as part of a thriller. I've read many of Ringo's books and have always enjoyed them until this point. The books starts out fine but when it got to some of the dominance stuff I had to raise an eyebrow. I kept reading, thinking the direction the novel was going would change but it really didn't so I stopped reading it just past the half-way point. The was one of the very few books, I've did not finish. The sex parts were too prominent and they didn't seem to have much purpose in the story. Yes, the "hero" of the book has some problems, but there are other ways to approach something like this so that it appeals to a wider audience.... If you like a lot of sex and some light sexual domination in your books this is the book for you.

Really awful stuff. I've read more than a dozen of Ringo's books and enjoyed them. Good, solid military sci-fi. This book is pure crap. A ridiculously hyperbolic exercise in mental masturbation. For those who defend it with "he had to get this out of his head" I say that's what the delete button is for, write it down and then throw it away. Don't foist it on the rest of us. If you like John Ringo, don't read this one, that way you can continue to like him.
