Agent of Change
by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller

A Liaden Universe® Novel

"LEE AND MILLER STRIKE SPACE OPERA GOLD."
 —Robin Wayne Bailey

Once a brilliant First-in Scout, Val Con yos'Phelium was "recruited" by the mysterious Liaden Department of Interior and brainwashed into an Agent of Change—a ruthless covert operative who kills without remorse.

Fleeing the scene of his latest murderous mission, he finds himself saving the life of ex-mercenary Miri Robertson, a tough Terran on the run from a team of interplanetary assassins. Thrown together by circumstances, Val Con and Miri struggle to elude their enemies and stay alive without slaying each other—or surrendering to the unexpected passion that flares between them.

"I was mesmerized, auued, and totally entertained. I am hooked by the Liaden world. Brauo!"
Mary Balogh

"Full of action, exotic characters, plenty of plot, and even a touch of romance. OUTSTANDING."
Booklist

"You may never care about a cast of characters more or await their return with more anticipation."

One of the best series I have ever read. I wish I could give it 10 stars. I think it actually excels Weber's Harrington novels because the infrastructure for the universe is so thoroughly thought out and so vividly described. History, cultures, subcultures, geography and crafts specific to it are so well depicted that you fancy you could function were you to awaken on some Liaden or Terran world one day. It's more like High Fantasy in this respect. Robert Jordan and his exhaustive cultural and historical descriptions comes to mind as well as Dennis L. MacKiernan's Mithgar books.

The Liaden series is one of the best scifi series I have ever read. I have them all in paperback (that is available), starting with the original paperback releases of Conflict of Honor, Agent of Change and Carpe Diem. I just had to have these when I saw them in ebook format! I am really happy that they are on Baen and in open format! I just recently purchased the Sony Reader, my eyes are getting old and I was getting headaches from reading on my palm pda. So I was able to download the rtf files and convert them to lrf files for my Sony Reader. My eyes do not get tired with the Sony reader, and no headaches, I read the first two books in three days! I have not read that much without getting a headache in two years! So thanks for making them available on Baen! Go Clan Korval!

I read this book when it first came out, and avidly awaited the sequel. Unfortunately, most of the bookstores I visited never had anything further, and it was with great pleasure that I _finally_ have the opportunity to complete the story! Well worth buying the entire collection.

If you've read books from the Liaden UniverseTM before, you, like me, will welcome these old friends with open arms - at last!! in non-DRM format. If you _haven't_ read any of these books before, I envy you... you are about to get the chance to meet Miri, Val Con, Edger, Sheather - even Watcher - for the first time! Dive on in!!! These books will become firm favourites; 'comfort' books; books you return to again and again - because each time you read them you find something new. Steve & Sharon write GREAT books!!

like anyone who has ever read the Liaden books you go back to read again and again. This is space opera at it's finest. I bought most everything they had in ebook format even though it is DRM and cannot be read on a pockec pc. I look forward to getting the books in a format I can read on my PDA

I picked up Conflict of Honors and Agent of Change in pocket format years ago during one of my runs to the closest specialty science fiction bookstore and devoured them. Then I promptly devoured them again. Then, I immediately started looking for the next books in the series, only to find to my chagrin that the publisher had chosen not to continue with the series. Oh, there was no joy in Mudvill that day, I can tell you. Fortunately, you can't keep a good series down, and Sharon and Steve were finally published anew via Meisha Merlin, and this time of course the story has progressed. It's great to see the books here, and I can wholeheartedly recommend the entire series. A word of warning though - don't pick up the first one unless you're willing to buy them all, because trust me on this - once you get hooked, you will.
