For those readers who live for the fight/battle sequences, this is your book. It doesn't leave as much room for character development as there is in his collaborative efforts with John Ringo. And please, get a proofreader or fire the current one. There were distracting spelling errors throughout the book. I stopped counting after twenty-five.

Wow, a surprise ending that made me hate everyone in the series. Great.

Quite disappointed. I usually like Doc's books, but think that this is below his usual standard. The novel's plot line is extremely thin and it is almost completely filled with small unit battle scenes described in excruciating detail...soon started to skip pages..and did not even miss the skipped pages. I don't think that I will be paying the ARC prices for this series any more.

I'd go for a 2.5 if I could. As far of plot, this would have been a good short story, but it was fluffed out with a lot of battle scenes. I like battle scenes, and they were detailed, but they did little to support the story. I would recommend reading it from the library, but I wouldn't recommend paying the cost of the ARC.
